Becoming A Member
If you would like to become a member of our club please contact one of our Board members via the links to the left. Once you contact us and complete the paperwork for membership, you need to purchase a car for your kid and get him ready for racing with the required safety equipment. He will receive novice training from our Novice Trainer, and can start racing right away. Check our 2008 race schedule and our upcoming promotion day where your kid can drive a car for $10.00 to see if he or she likes it enough to start racing!!. Membership The Quarter Midgets of America (QMA) membership form must be filled out completely and signed by both parents (signatures on back of forms should be done on each individual sheet).
Dues Annual membership dues are $125.00; $75.00 covers the QMA dues and the remaining $50 covers the Local RoadRunner QMA dues. Membership application and dues are required in order to be covered by QMA insurance. Training Our novice trainer will work with your child to ensure he/she is familiar with the basics of driving before sending him/her out "under power". We will continue to work with the children during training and practice sessions to ensure the understanding of racing, rules and sportsmanship in a safe and supportive atmosphere. We ask that you provide our trainer with your full cooperation and take every opportunity to be involved. Cars There are a number of current RRQMA members who have information about cars for sale in all parts of the country. Occasionally, our own members will also have cars for sale. Just ask. The Internet is also a good source for locating new and used cars if you want to go it on your own. Car prices typically range from $1200 for an older used car to $4000 plus for a new model. Other Equipment (helmets, jackets, gloves, etc...) There are a number of local sources for helmets. However, you must be sure to purchase the proper type of rated Snell helmet (ask any of our members for specifications). The Internet, again is an excellent resource. A local retailer for Quarter Midget parts is: ATSI Motorsports (703-626-4064). Meetings We meet the first Wednesday of each month at (Location to be announced). Although the meetings are not mandatory, we highly encourage participation. With the new track development and the increasing number of members, we use these meetings to update everyone and dispurse information. All new members are provided with a contact list of the current members, we encourage networking among members. Also provided in the new member packet are the RRQMA by-laws and a regulation booklet from QMA. So you don't feel lost regarding rules and regulations, we ask that you take the time to familiarize yourself with this information. We look forward to sharing an awesome growth opportunity with both you and your children!
